Here at Mthree we try to make our water-cooler chats as philisophically useful as possible. That way, we feel we have accomplished something during our breaks, other than refreshing our tired eyes and empty stomachs.. Well, that’s what we tell ourselves anyway. At least we are trying…
Today, we decided that the answer to the perennial question, “Is it bad to look back?” and indeed, the implied opposite that it is good to look ahead - is No - It Is Good To Look Back. Not just in the sense that examining the past helps us to understand how to perform better in the future, but also in the sense that wallowing in past successes can really help to lift your mood when your current project is giving you a hard time!
Suitably refreshed by how wonderful we were in the past, the current project can now be tackled from a different mindset. Because we did it before - so we can do it again! Oh Yes!
On that revelatory thought, we decided to dig through our blog archives to publish a selection of past posts, which you can find below. We must admit that reading them again does not fill us with the sense of achievement we had hoped for, (gosh, they seemed to read better when I wrote them 5 years ago), but at least they offer a glimpse into how much smarter we have become in the last 5 years. And that will probably do the Mthree team more good than it will inform you, dear reader - but perhaps they will make you laugh. And goodness knows that alone is a good thing in these troubling times…
